Miller & Olson LLP is Hiring!

Miller & Olson LLP is seeking a Political Reports Specialist for its downtown Sacramento office. The Specialist position is responsible for administering the books for candidates, political action committees, as well as non-profit organizations. Specifically, the position requires bookkeeping and administering client bank accounts, preparing and filing campaign finance reports and communicating timely financial information to clients.

Candidates must possess a college degree, strong organizational skills, be self-starting, and meet multiple, fast-moving deadlines. Candidates should be proficient in Word, Outlook, Excel and QuickBooks. The ideal candidate is dependable, positive, has an interest in politics, likes working in a small team and is able to interact professionally with clients. Position does require some nights and weekend work in busy times. Prior experience a plus.

Local Contribution Limits Take Effect

On January 1, 2021, local jurisdictions that have not adopted campaign contribution limits for candidates running for office in that jurisdiction will be required to adhere to the state-imposed limit of $4,900 per election for elections being held in 2021 and 2022. Limits will be linked to the state candidate contribution limit which is adjusted for inflation every two years. The language of the new law can be read here.

Second Fair Political Practices Commissioner Resigns
